While others are waiting for life to get back to normal, here I am thinking and living the positive side of the pandemic. Honestly, I will admit that on the onset that Covid-19 was declared as a global pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO) and witnessed the lock down of Wuhan, China and how it affects the lives of many people and the country’s economy, I was in the state of anxiety.
Much more emotions poured out when infected cases increasing day-by-day, everywhere around the globe. I was not scared of myself but to my family and the people around me. I worried about the infected individuals who are away from their home countries, away from their families, those working and taking care of the patients, the cleaners, the nurses, the doctors, the security guards and countless people who risk their lives.
I worried and remembered during one of our bible study session 8 months back, the manifestations that the world will about to end. I was worried that if the world will end, did I serve my life according to the purpose of my existence? According to what God has designed me to live in this world? If I am living a life with a purpose and for God’s purpose?
As time marches on, while living a home quarantine life, exactly 15 days today (22 May 2020), there are a lot of thoughts coming in while I kept my life in silence. Silence meaning, I have to talk if I need too while doing my daily personal and home office schedule. I found myself enjoying the life alone, enjoying my “me” time all the time.
And to share what #Covid-19 has brought me a new “me”, here are my list and what I discovered on myself. The grateful list that I have and will continually seek the positive side of #Covid-19 on my day-to-day life, that life must go on, living a proactive, strong faith in God and productive life.

I am a person who looks after the needs of other than me. I talked and advised a lot as if I am doing exactly the same. I monitored them a lot more than I monitored myself. I talk but not walk. However, this pandemic had taught me to take care of myself, making sure that I eat regularly, eat healthy, drink lemon water every day, green tea in between meals or turmeric or ginger, exercise daily in order to boost my immune system. I felt the need to be healthy for myself, for the people around me and above all, for my family. I embraced the hash tag; my safety is your safety.
Motivation to exercise daily
I loved outdoors, walking, hiking and so, I loved to exercise. However, the level of motivation to workout everyday is lesser. It requires a quality of mindset in order to materialize what my mind want to do. However, then again in order to boost my immune system, I pushed myself double to move every day until it became part on my daily schedule. The feeling is so rewarding. I discovered that I can now jog 20-minute without break and can tolerate mixed moves for 45-minute straight (in-between water break). Before, I cannot jog more than 3 minutes, otherwise, I will buckle. “I never get the kind of motivation I had before until the Corona virus came out”
I never had been an apple person since I was a kid, but at this time, I learned and appreciated eating it every day. Day won’t pass without apple on my plate and oranges on the other side, my ultimate favorite fruit. I loved the fact that every day I get to see positive side of Covid-19.
Clean and Healthier Eating
Since day one of my mandatory home quarantine, I never had eaten not-so healthy foods. I gradually stopped eating rice; I replaced it with oats or cereals. I made my own energy balls, overnight oats and others. I loved to watch Danispies “Clean & Delicious” trying to do it on my own according to what’s’ available on my kitchen.
Making my meals cozy
Since I am living on my own away from my family, I cooked and prepared my own food especially at this time. Since day 1 on my home quarantine, I made sure that my meals would be pleasing to my eyes as if I am eating and treating myself in a 5-star hotelJ. Garnished and well-plated, and so I discovered I have a talent of setting-up or hosting a party. See, how this pandemic brought me into something that I am grateful on myself. This is my own little way of entertaining myself and I felt super happy and gratifying. I realized that the best person we should treat well is our own self.
I also discovered Wellplated this spot. Erin Clarke offers a variety of healthy recipes. You can visit her site to know more about her “ Well Plated by Erin”.
I hope that you too, can and will find the positive side of Covid-19 as I am trying to seek it every day. Let us continue to protect our mental health at these trying times of our lives. Whatever faith you have, let us keep holding on to that. God is in control. This pandemic will surely pass and we’ll have a new life, a new beginning and a better version of ourselves.
